Paediatric Respiratory Consultant, Birmingham Children's Hospital

Prasad is a paediatric respiratory consultant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH) and a Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He leads the severe asthma service at BCH and coordinates the West Midlands paediatric severe asthma network. He is the only paediatrician in the Birmingham Regional Adult Severe Asthma Service and has set up transition and research links with Prof Adel Mansur.

Prasad’s research interests include understanding the pathophysiology of children with severe asthma, evaluation of invasive/non invasive biomarkers in childhood asthma, adherence monitoring and use of novel approached in management of asthma. He is the chief investigator for MUCOSA study (Mucus Hypersecretion in Children with severe Asthma), CHAMP (Childhood Home Asthma Monitoring Study) an NIHR-AI funded project.
