SHINGRIX is not indicated for the treatment of HZ or its complications, such as pain.

Icon burning pain

70–80% of cases of HZ rash are preceded by prodromal pain and can last up to 1 week or longer.

The prodromal pain might also be associated with fever, malaise, and headache. 

Icon eruptive phase

Up to 90% of immunocompetent individuals experience acute local neurological pain during the eruptive phase.

The median duration of acute phase pain is 2 weeks and can be very severe, disabling, and interfere with daily activities.

HZ-associated pain can persist for weeks, months, or even years.

Icon rash

The rash typically heals in 2–4 weeks but may leave scars or pigmentation changes.

Efficacy data for SHINGRIX1

Vaccine efficacy profile was studied in subjects ≥50 years old (ZOE-50) and subjects ≥70 years old (ZOE-70). SHINGRIX efficacy profile was also studied in two immunocompromised patient populations aged ≥18 years.1
