Dr Tom Fardon

Consultant Physician in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine at NHS Tayside

He studied pre-clinical and clinical medicine at the University of Cambridge and in 2014, was made an Honorary Reader in the University of Dundee.

Dr Fardon is currently the NHS Tayside lead for cystic fibrosis and co-leads the bronchiectasis and difficult infection service in Tayside. He runs the local paediatric-to-adult transition service and contributes to their difficult asthma service.

Dr Fardon is the clinical lead for the NHS Tayside Managed Clinical Network for respiratory medicine, Chair of the Scottish Government National Advisory Committee for Respiratory Medicine, Respiratory Lead for the Scottish Access Collaborative, and Lead of the Scottish Government Respiratory Care Improvement Plan. He is Secretary of the Scottish Thoracic Society and a clinical reviewer for EMBARC, the ERS, SMC and on the Editorial Board for Thorax.
He has a continued an interest in clinical research, collaborating with the Tayside Respiratory Research Group, and is published in the areas of asthma and bronchiectasis.
