Maternal Immunization with the Tdap vaccine has been shown to be effective in preventing pertussis disease in infants <3 months of age 1-4

  • Maternal Immunization against pertussis with Tdap is currently considered an effective intervention to minimize the morbidity and mortality associated with pertussis in neonates before their primary vaccine series can be completed 56
  • Studies around the world indicated that Maternal Immunization is an effective way to protect infants in the early months of life 1-478

Tdap: tetanus toxoid, reduced diphtheria toxoid and acellular pertussis vaccine.
